Metro Net is incorporated as a Michigan Non-Profit Public Library Consortium.

We are a genuinely "virtual" Consortium: our linkages and offerings are electronic. We have neither a headquarters building nor staff.

Eight suburban Detroit area public libraries make up Metro Net, at ten sites in Wayne and Oakland Counties: the Baldwin (Birmingham), Bloomfield Township, Canton, Farmington Community, Independence Township, Rochester Hills, Southfield, and West Bloomfield Township public libraries.

Each Metro Net site is connected via a fiber link to our ISP, AT&T. PCs are available for public internet access at each site.

The Metronet Libraries present Tough Times, Library Lifelines. A resource for the large number of out-of-work Southeast Michigan Residents.

The presentation by David Pearce Synder on the future of libraries from Monday, October 13th is now available for review.
