Adding Dialing Prefix to Your Connection Windows XP Step 1: Click "Start" "Connect to:" and "Library" or the name of your Metro Net Connection. Step 2: In the "Connect" window, click on the "Properties" button. The "Library Properties" box will open. In the "general" tab under "Area Code" add the prefix "248." Step 3: Check the box next to "Use area code when dialing." Then click "Ok."
Windows ME Step 1: Click on the "Start" button, then in the sub-menu items sequentially labled "Programs", "Accessories","Communications" and "Dial-Up Networking." Step 2: Double click on "Library" or the name of your connection. Step 3:Click on the "General" tab. Check the "area code" box, amd enter prefix "248." Step 4: Check the "Use area code when dialing" box. Then click "Ok." Step 5: Click the "X" in the corner of the Dial-up Networking Window to close it.
Windows 98/95 Step 1: Click on the "Start" button, then in the sub-menu items sequentially labled "Programs", "Accessories,"Communications" and "Dial-Up Networking." Step 2: Right-click on "Library" or the name of your connection. Click "Properties." Step 3: The "General" tab will be on top. Click in the "Telephone" box, and edit the phone number to include the area code "248." Step 4: Click "Ok." Step 5: Click the "X" in the corner of the Dial-up Networking Window to close it. Mac OS X Step 1: Click on "Finder", select "applications", select "Internet Connect." Step 2: Add "1248" before the phone number. Close the Window.
