Configuring Telnet
Telnet enables your modern PC to emulate or "mimic" a text terminal on a remote computer system. You will need this program to connect to the Metro Net server to change your password and to access some of the Metro Net library catalogs.

  1. Determine whether you have Netscape or Internet Explorer and the version. Click on the Help menu item (near the top of the screen).

  2. Click on either About Internet Explorer or About Netscape Navigator. A screen showing the name of the program and version number will appear.

  3. Select the browser and operating system you are using from the list below:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and Windows 95 or NT Workstation
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and Windows 95 or NT Workstation
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and Windows ME or W2K or XP Workstation
Netscape Navigator 3.0 (3.01, 3.02, Gold, etc.) and Windows 95 or NT Workstation
    Netscape Communicator/Navigator 4.0 (4.01, 4.02, etc.) and Windows 95 or NT Workstation
